Wildsmith shoes - Trinity loafer in review

Earlier I wrote about the new rising of a traditional shoe brand Wildsmith (you can see the post here) and when Chay asked me if was interested to give some of their pair a try, I of course was more than glad to take that chance. As one can see from the pics below the weather in Finland at the moment is not the most optimal for loafers. However I luckily got the chance to wear these already in Florence during Pitti Uomo and now I’m waiting for the summer to come. Trinity - Brogue punched saddle loafer When making the choice, I basically had two options - the “George” chukka boot in oxblood pebble grain leather and the Trinity. As...

Wildsmith shoes - up and running again

On my trip in London I also had the pleasure to visit at Wildsmith Shoes  on Savile Row, sharing address with the famous tailoring house Cad&The Dandy. I took a glimpse of the newly launched collection and also had a chance to have a little chat with Ian, one of the new owners of the company. Unlined apron loafer Bloomsbury is definitely one of the core designs of the new collection. A modern version inspired by the classic "Wildsmith loafer". Wildsmith shoes back in the day and today Wildsmith shoes was originally founded in 1847 by Rebecca & Matthew Wildsmith in Piccadilly, London. For generations they were purveyors of English shoes and boots. Initially they started with serving and repairing...

Meermin shoes for women

As said couple of times I don't often post anything about womens style. But today I do. I thought I'd share some news from Mallorca as Meermin has recently been expanding their range of footwear for ladies as well. I was able to take a look of some of these models earlier this year at their Trunk Show held in Stockholm and now they are also available at their online store (see the post regarding the trunk show from here). Meermin Mallorca for women The women I know use basically either boots, high-heels or sneakers but rarely anything with goodyear-welted construction. One reason for that (at the same time keeping in mind the fact that it's probably impossible to make aesthetically pleasing high-heels with...

Shoe rotation - What is enough?

How many pairs of shoes does a man need?Yesterday as I got the newest addition, a pair of Buttero tanino sneakers into my collection - I once again started to think the question how many pairs of shoes does a man need… The pair mentioned took the overall amount to be around 45 pairs - give or take one or two as some pairs are missing from the pictures which I shot last night. So in general I could probably say that I have my basics covered. I actually haven't  purchased any dress shoes or casual leather shoes for a while now as I’ve been concentrating to more casual options for summer such as superga sneakears, rivieras slip-ons and Nike flyknits.The...

Bow-Tie shoes @ Pitti Uomo 84

One of the best things of visiting Pitti is finding brands you haven't been aware of earlier. Or brands of which you've maybe heard sometimes but don't really have much info about. One of the less-known brands I came up with this time was a Spanish shoe brand Bow-Tie. Bow-tie shoes - inspired by British tradition and heritage Bow-Tie is a Spanish brand and manufacturer that finds inspiration from the British tradition and heritage. In terms of shoes Bow-Tie shoes have three different lines. First of all there's Premium Gold Series which consists of shoes made exclusively of shell cordovan leather by Horween. Second one is Classic line that includes various versions of dress shoes in different leathers and models with the goodyear welt-construction....
