How to tie your tie? What are the features you prefer in terms of ties? We asked these questions from a few guys during Pitti Uomo 89. We also asked how do they like to wear their ties and what are the most important things when it comes to choosing a tie. And we made a short video about that. See what these tie aficionados answered.

How to tie your tie – colors and florals @ Pitti Uomo 89

Earlier I wrote briefly about my personal favorite looks and streetstyle photos that were seen at Pitti Uomo this January. In this post I concentrate more specifically to ties. To ties people wore in Florence and combinations that showcase how to make different kind of ties to work.

The spectrum of ties seen at the fair is naturally very large. Some had chosen to go with bold colors and patterns whereas some other trusted to earthy tones and classic choices. This year it seemed that for example floral prints were pretty popular as well as ties featuring paisley pattern. In terms knots it seemed that simple and basic four-in-hand was the knot most attendees kept as their favorite. As far as I am concerned that is the safest choice.

And as a conclusion a few of my personal favorite shots and tie-combinations. Remember that your tie is not just a free-standing accessory you take from your closet and put on. It is the piece of your outfit that should keep the whole ensemble together.
