The one button suit is something you don't really see that often nowadays. However it can be a good option to expand your range of suits to wear for not only more formal parties and social events but also for business occasions. Today I take a look at one of my recent suits: a gray single-breasted one button suit made of Vitale Barberis Canonico super 150s wool. The suit differs from most of my suits due to the wide peak lapels and especially the buttoning of the jacket. The gray one button suit with DLA gray wool tie, white shirt and black tassel loafers. One button suit - rarity You don't really see suits with only button these days. Especially...
Most of my ties are plain. And I like them that way. However, every now and then you might want to feature some pattern in your ties. So do I. And for business purposes you have a few options that in my opinion are the most appropriate. In this post I will take a closer look at of one them and feature a Prince of Wales tie paired with a gray suit and black shoes. In terms of patterned ties for business you can go for stripes, dots or prints such as printed florals. Or you can go for the Prince of Wales pattern ties. In fact that pattern is in my opinion equally suited for formal events and business meetings...
You don't have to wear a blue or gray suit all the time. Those two colors are safe choices and they always look good. With the re-emergence of the brown suit over the recent years however, being down with brown has become a fully accepted style choice. I haven't had a brown suit for a few years now. And I need to admit that these two are perfect additions to my wardrobe as they are versatile and diverse choices to wear for business and for leisure. Brown suit is appropriate for business Brown suit...
Pitti Uomo is not just superfluous peacocks posing at the plaza of Fortezza da Basso. In fact it is much more than that. Among the guys who participate to the fair there are still bunch of most well-dressed men who continue to uphold the simple, effortless elegance and authentic style. To continue the short reports from Florence I decided to pick few shots featuring outfits I personally wanted to highlight as "best of Pitti Uomo 91" in terms of street style. And I also wrote a few thoughts about the people and different styles you see at Pitti Uomo Me on the first day of the fair. Shot by Robert Spangle for British GQ. Classic menswear vs. fashionable streetstyle As it has...
One Pitti Uomo again behind. Last week we had four busy, yet sensuous days in Florence. Then a couple of relaxing days in Milan. More detailed reviews and thoughts are coming up later. But before that as a Friday inspiration a short sneak peek to what I wore for the days in Florence. The week in Italy was busy as have been this week as I got back to work. Therefore it has taken a while to come up with these updates. And I will also try to get back on track with regular posting next week. A good old-fashioned portrait from the third day of the fair. I decided to wear a full suit for each of the days I...
