Imagine a piece of art in your pocket. Inspired by the legendary national epic of Kalevala and Finland, this pocket square combines Scandinavian culture with Italian quality and craftsmanship.
The Defense of the Sampo pocket square
The soft, transparent and delicate feel of the wool-silk fabric makes this square ideal for smart outfits in any season.
The Defense of the Sampo pocket square presents my personal favorite Finnish painting. In this scene from the epic, the Finnish war hero Väinämöinen has stolen the precious artifact Sampo from the evil witch Louhi, and she has taken the form of a giant bird to reclaim it.
The brown tones and soft, wool-silk fabric of the pocket square make it easy to combine with not only casual sport coats but also more formal business suits.
The Defense of the Sampo is a Romantic nationalist painting completed by Finnish painter Akseli Gallen-Kallela in 1896. The painting illustrates a passage from the Kalevala, the Finnish national epic compiled by Elias Lönnrot in the 19th century. The original painting hangs in the Turku Art Museum.
How to wear the Defense of Sampo pocket square:
The key to the Defense of Sampo pocket square is its versatility. Featuring shades of brown, green, and blue, this square helps you to achieve the perfect daily outfit. From wintry business occasions to relaxed summer evenings, the square will serve you well. Fold it elegantly into the pocket of your solaro suit to complement the combination of light blue shirt and camel colored jacket. Or casually and carelessly slide it into the breast pocket of your green washed cotton sport coat and finish the look with some distressed denim.
And if you are not wearing your pocket square, you can always use it as an decorative art piece on your wall.
