3 x Raincoats from the Nordic

As we are soon in the middle of the darkest, lightless and wettest season of the year here in the North, it’s a good time to take a quick look of few options to protect oneself against rainy & windy days.

Instead of being just the piece you wear when heading to the countryside, this fall especially the slim cut raincoat models have been making their way to be more and more popular, even on the streets in the cities.

Below are pictured three different options - from three different Nordic countries.

1) Stutterheim Raincoats - Arholma

From Sweden - at the moment everyone is aware of Stutterheim. Kanye is wearing it, multiple magazines have been covering them and they just launched a collaboration with Jay-Z and Barneys as well. The Arholma jacket is companys most classic, iconic and finest model, handmade in a rubberized cotton fabric with an exclusive lining in cotton/viscose and finished with handstiched seams. This is a modern classic.

2) Rains - long jacket

From Denmark - Rains is based on the idea of making a modern and affordable versions of the classic quality raincoats. Being available in multiple colors and priced around 100 euros makes this one definitely worth a look.

3) Norwegian Rain - single breasted raincoat

From Norway - and from Bergen, the rainiest city of Europe comes Norwegian Rain, probably the most fashion forward option of the three mentioned here. Clean cut aesthetics, draping with hints to the purity in Japanese dressing traditions combined with traditional men's tailoring, still keep the functionality in each piece visually understated.

The coat pictured features outer and inner shell made of 100 % recycled fibers and inner shell of high-tech waterproof but breathable membrane.  Cashmere lining in collar will also guarantee ultimate comfort on cold and windy days.

For those living in Finland, unfortunately we don’t really have our own Stutterheim, Rains or Norwegian Rain but in case you happen to come up with some older labeled Rukka raincoats, those are definitely something to  grab on. Just be aware that those might not be cut as fitted as the ones mentioned in this post.
