It is time to start looking at the brands and collections seen at Pitti Uomo. First in line is one of my personal favorites, Italian Lardini SS16 collection.
When it comes to Italian #menswear Lardini is a company that can not be passed. Created and still run by the siblings Andrea, Luigi and Lorena Lardini is known for the development, innovation and experimentation it invests in to create products. And they do that with versatile selection of fabrics, patterns and special treatments. Finally they combine the art of hand tailoring and cutting-edge machinery. All of the products are manufactured entirely in Filottrano, Italy
Lardini SS16 - white and blue
According to themselves the Lardini SS16 draws its inspiration from the leisure of French Riviera, Montecarlo, Antibes and Saint Tropez. It's all about "a fresh take on the once-upon-a-time gentleman's vacation style". It features modern revisitation of soft linen suits, breton stripe jackets, plaid cotton bouclé blazers and easy fit white pants.
White was one of the top trends seen at this season's fair. And Lardini was one of the top executors when it comes to the use of white. The company had created color palette featuring classic white and blue together with shades and tones like natural ecru and sandy beige. As a result the Lardini SS16 collection presents timeless elegance in modern and chic way.
In addition to the use of white Lardini also featured two other trends that were clearly present for the season. First of all the collection featured stripes in various forms. In addition the collection included various choices of tailored knitwear. The above referred natural sense of refinement and casual elegance comes through for example in the single-breasted comfort knit jackets featuring pinstripe patterns, jacquard designs and stripe patchworks.
The collection presented by Lardini was once again versatile. The selection varies from softly tailored jackets in a classic style and cut all the way to knit jackets and unstructured lightweight jersey sport coats.
