No new under the sun - that's the first thought in mind when taking a look at the new seasonal look book of Italian Loro Piana. The company has again come up with a collection and seasonal look book that in terms of inspiration and aesthetics does not differ ounce of their high-quality standards.
The collection and look book - as usual - underline the ease, elegance and form of Italian style of being dressed-up but still casual and "chic" together with Italian craftsmanship. For upcoming spring and summer the collection shows full range of lightweight garments combining casual and "cosy" gear together with classic elements and style.
Loro Piana SS 2015 - Shades of blue and tobacco
For this season the main color seen in the illustrations is blue. Darker blue is repeated especially in outerwear - and where shades of gray (and brown) many times dominate the color scheme for winter-season overcoats and jackets, blue is definitely are more appropriate option for spring and summer.
When it comes to sport coats, blazers and knitwear, the shade of blue changes to bit more lighter hues. In addition to blue the collection features a lot of light brown or tobacco. Tobacco colored linen- or cotton suit is actually one of those "essential summer pieces" every man should own at some point of their life. Easy to dress up or down and especially if you have a jacket with patch pockets, easy to use as separates in case needed.
The best part of Loro Piana look books is - in my opinion - the fact that even though you could not afford to buy these garments, from them one can always find inspiration in terms of combining colors, textures and individual pieces. And after going through the looks one can choose and adapt the best combinations to one's wardrobe with more affordable pieces or brands. Of course one need to keep in mind that it's not just the aesthetics you are paying for but it is the quality. And that you can only feel when you get a Loro Piana piece into your hands.
Finally a few of my personal favorites from the collection - for more looks check out the full look book on their site.
