SuitSupply Resort collection

Starting the - dark and cold - week with a glimpse to the new Resort collection that Dutch SuitSupply introduced just a while ago.

The collection - featuring a couple of suits, range of sport coats, trousers, knitwear, shorts together with some accessories in lightweight fabrics & vivid and a bit faded colors - is according to SuitSupply made for those who prefer to trade the snow & cold for some sand & sun and opt for a proper getaway. And even though you wouldn’t be heading for a holiday, it is still a good chance to start preparing oneself for the upcoming summer.

It seems that the collection is (at least at the moment) available only in the US-online store. In case you are based outside US - like me - just change the location / country of shipping and you will be able to browse the selection.

Blue sport coat for summer

Basically there is not much new on the selection but still there is a few pieces that are definitely worth taking a closer look - especially if you are looking a new sport coat in some shade of blue.

First is the Hudson-fit suit made of pure cotton in a very light and faded shade of blue, featuring a small micro-dot pattern that gives the suit an interesting texture. Both, the jacket and trousers are also easy to use as separates which is always good when traveling as it gives more options in terms of combining your outfits.

For those who already have their basics covered the selection includes the havana-fit suit made of pure linen in faded green. I would not wear this for anything even a bit formal - although for some very casual summer weddings it might work - but for having a nice dinner in a sunny evening this combined with a light blue popover shirt for example would be a chic choice.

There are actually three different kind of versions of a blue sport coat in the collection - all in the Havana fit - varying in terms of the shade of blue and the fabric used. The one most suitable for holiday and summer evenings in my opinion is the one featuring the most lightest shade of blue, made from a blend of wool, linen, silk  and cashmere.

For those occasions when there is no need to dress up - a navy crew neck sweater made of linen and olive green cotton trousers will do. And this combination is also easy to update - just put on the blazer above and you’re ready for a dinner.
