Tibitie accessories @ Sauma

A while ago when visiting at Sauma I got to take a look a new addition to their selection, Tibitie accessories.

Tibitie is a Japanese based company that has been specializing in small pieces of “lapel accessories” since 2009. All the pieces are handcrafted in Japan and I personally (as a friend of paying attention to small details) enjoyed to see the very detailed finishing and the craftsmanship put into these pieces.

Lately the popularity of this kind of lapel accessories has been growing and growing and there’s been very many kind of interpretations and applications of these such as felt flowers or even using the silk knots as your “lapel pin”. In terms of aesthetics and usability “tibities” goes to the top league in my book - basically due to the personality (including colors and patern choices), details and finishing.

In case you’re looking something to put on your lapel this summer, these would do the thing. Especially when dressing up a bit lighter with soft tailored jackets and sport coats or even to spice up your formal wear (in case of wedding parties for example).

One thing that differs “Tibities” from most of others is the attachment mechanism. Through “needle type” of fastening “Tibities” can be used anywhere, not just in the lapel of your jacket but also on a bag, on your hat, scarf or wherever.

The prices at Sauma for these are 28 euros a piece (IIRC), which I think is pretty affordable. As some people have been asking if they have a webshop, unfortunately they don’t. But in case someone is looking for something special, for example some of these Tibitie products, let me know and I’ll might be able to proxy.
