Bastong that I in the first place got familar at Pitti Uomo in January is a South Korean company, dedicated to making classic but casual daily outerwear with a philosophy that "Regardless of genre, 'anything that's well made does work".
The selection of the brand is small including basically 5 different jackets and in addition they make 1-2 new models differing from one season to another. The design of Bastong focuses on creating a clean look combined with high quality materials and construction. As they say by themselves - a good product with good care will last forever.
Collection for spring and summer ´15 is named and inspired by "Sahara desert", including two different color schemes - a sand picturing the sand dunes and dark blue to portray the clear nights of the desert. For the season, in addition to the "original collection" there are couple of really nice additions, such as the classic rain mac. Trying to create personal interpretations of army inspired garments is not easy, but Bastong is one of the uncommon brands that succeeds in that task.
As with many Asian brands and products the availability in Europe (or in America) is not that good but check out their own web store in case you are interested. UK-based John Simons should also have Bastong jackets in their selection later in the fall.
