Since presenting their first collection at Pitti Uomo 84 in January 2013 Eidos Napoli has firmly been on the radar of every menswear enthusiastic. The second collection was at least as good and compelling as the first one and the third - collection for spring and summer 2015 - made no exception.
Eidos SS2015 - il cuore di pescatore
“This is Rome” and “Faces of Firenze” collections are now followed by a line that can be called as “The heart of Fisherman” - inspired by the little and beautiful island of Ischia, located a bit outside of Naples in Italy, that also has been called as the land of farmers and fishermen. The inspiration is shown all-around but goes as far as to the little details of cardigan pockets where the weave is made to resemble old fishing nets and printed maps of Ischia that can be seen not just in pocket squares but that are even printed in the shirts.
For next spring and summer Eidos and the head designer Antonio Ciongoli has again come up with a collection that’s relatively small but still covers pretty much every aspect of style - all the way from casual beach wear to business suits and finally formal attires.
The line overall combines classic Italian tailoring with a personal kind of casual elegance - high waisted trousers, side adjuster, one-piece collar polo-shirts, wide lapels and high gorge in the jackets are featured in garments of bright but still sober shades and colors such as navy, orange, army green, indigo and stone grey.
