Scandinavian simplicity combined with Italian craftsmanship - DressLikeA

Isaia F/W ´14 @ Pitti Uomo 85

Upcoming fall and winter ´14 collection presented by Isaia at Pitti Uomo featured bunch of contemporary yet traditional and chic looks inspired by the Neapolitan Cuisine - "Cucina Napoletana".

As the traditional Neapolitan cuisine features plates full of strong and vibrant Italian culture, the collection of Isaia creatively integrates the color palette and richness of the dishes into the garments starting from the deep red of tomatoes to the rust of ravioli and from the warm hues of ochre to the brown shades of coffee and espresso. The color wheel is complemented by rich shades starting from blue and pink going all the way till grey and green. At the same time the tones of fabrics reflect the shades of different entrees by combining restored vintage fabrics together with new textiles featuring a more modern touch.

Presentation dedicated to show sportswear

One thing that really bounced out was the number of sportswear and casual selection presented. Dyed split suede and leather, sweaters and knitwear (especially the use of donegal was inspiring), garments with a flannel finish, and finally lighter overcoats, all still featuring the tailored element and finishing that makes Isaia to be Isaia - among the other brands.

Can’t go wrong by mixing pink and brown. Isaia was also featuring the biggest trend of the fair - popped collars under rollnecks.

Together with the green field jackets, the red suede leather jackets were definitely highlights and attention points of the collections

Shades of blue - contemporary and elegant but still casual.

Finally, some might say that walking through the collection feels like going through the menus of Michelin star restaurant - there’s not bad choices but everything seems delicious.

In Finland Isaia is available through Fere and if you happen to visit Stockholm, go and check out the selection @Gabucci.
