Whereas I like to keep my suits quite simple and plain, in terms of sport coats I rather go for plaids, checks or some other lively patterns. For today a few detail shots from last week. Featured in the pics is a checked cotton sport coat by Pal Zileri that I don't actually wear that often nowadays but that is a great piece for relaxed casual office days.
Checks and details
I bought the jacket in pictures a couple of years go from Milan. As mentioned, it hasn't got as much wear as many of my other jackets which might partly be because of the shoulder structure which is a bit more padded that most of my other jackets. Another thing is that the jacket was a bit too long in the first place so I got the hem shortened a bit which of course then affected also to overall balance and aesthetics of the jacket.
All that being said I think the pattern and fabric of the jacket are especially nice. I'm not that fond of bright colors anymore but the purple on the jacket together with off-white and brown overcheck gives it a nice and vivid look. And even though the jacket itsef features three different colors, it is still quite easy to combine as far as one remembers to keep the rest outfit ease and simple. For the day I decided to combine the jacket with white cotton slacks by Berwich which are actually my most worn pair of pants with this jacket. Secondly, a denim shirt that is perfectly appropriate choice for a combination that despite the tie and the fact that it was meant to be worn at the office is still pretty casual. Repeating the brown color of the jacket in the tie and pocket square to keep the color scheme balanced and finally some suede footwear to finalize the look.
