Eidos Napoli fall and winter 2015

A month ago in Florence many guys were disappointed as they heard the fact that Eidos Napoli -the so-called little brother of famous ISAIA - would not be present at Pitti Uomo.

Instead Eidos decided to launch their collection for upcoming fall and winter season in NewYork during the fashion week.

Eidos fall and winter ´15 - Correspondent

The collection is called “The Correspondent”. According to Antonio Ciongoli, the head-designer of Eidos the inspiration and theme behind the line - that includes mid-century-inspired tailoring, softened up in that Neapolitan, light weight way and aesthetic - goes way back till October 1943 when the Allied forces took Naples from the Germans - specifically to the clothes photojournalist Robert Capa wore€”or would have worn during those events.

Eidos Napoli for inspiration - shoes from down under and skateboard references

It can be said, once again Eidos has done amazing andinspiring work. In the presentation double-breasted and three-pieces suits are coherently combined with more relaxed twill trousers, chunky knitwear, denim, corduroy, suede and even henley shirts to keep it casual. In terms of color there is no overkills, instead blues, browns and greys are supported by subtle use of burgundy, white and shades of green.

For the footwear seen in the collection Antonio and Eidos has teamed up with another highly skilled young man, Christian Kimber from Melbourne, Australia. Christian, whose brand carries his own name is not just one of the most talented and inspiring guys in the industry at the moment, he is also one of the most humble and kind guys I have had an honor to meet. I’m already excited about the fact that the alliance between Christian, Antonio and Eidos will continue during the upcoming seasons.

In terms of footwear sneakers - most designed with an inspiration from a 1990s skate shoe style made by a brand called DC - have a huge role. In addition there are some suede chukka boots and oxfords made of suede present as well as some more dressy boot options.

Another “skateboarding reference” comes in a form of a pro-skater Gino Iannucci who Antonio has asked to model for both the presentation seen at New York fashion week as well as the look book that will be launched later. To put it shortly - awesome work by Antonio and the whole team of Eidos Napoli. Looking forward for these pieces to hit into the stores.
