Bastong - outstanding outerwear

Korean brand Bastong was established in 2011. The company started as non-seasonal brand focusing on outerwear but has nowadays expanded their range to cover full range of clothing and accessories. Today taking a bit closer look of the brand and their selection for the season. I came across Bastong for the first time in June 2013 as I walked through their booth at Pitti Uomo. At that time they had five overcoats to present, nothing more. But those five jackets were right on point and the selection seemed to be perfectly deliberated. As mentioned, Bastong considered and still considers itself as a "non-seasonal" brand. What that means is the company focuses on certain garments which they offer year round. But they do not produce...

BEAMS fall and winter 2015

After yesterday's take on the seasonal collection of Drake's London another look book and dose of inspiration for the week, this time from Asia. Japanese brand and retailer BEAMS - one of the most interesting names in terms of menswear - a while ago released multiple different look books or catalogues for this season and pictures below have been taken from one them, named "in The style" which features mostly tailored garments together with some a bit more casual and relaxed elements. The company offers multiple different lines...

Loro Piana fall and winter 2015

Season after season I find myself waiting for the launch of collections and look books by Italian Loro Piana. This fall makes no exception. For this fall and winter 2015 the company has again come up with a collection and seasonal look book that in terms of inspiration and aesthetics maintains those high-quality standards they have set for themselves. As usual the look book featuring "pencil sketches" of the collection underlines the ease, elegance and form of Italian style of being dressed-up but still casual and "chic" together with Italian craftsmanship. It could be said that Loro Piana represents a kind of "Italian minimalism" in terms of style and aestethics. There is no sriking elements or "sprezzatura" but just simple combinations, restrained...

#tyylit-inspiration - Suitsupply FW15 pre-order

Suitsupply just launched their pre-order selection for this fall and winter season. The selection features multiple nice, basic pieces ranging from gray flannel suits to navy blue blazers, wool slacks and classic overcoats.  I will cover the collection in more detail soon but first a short glimpse featuring a few pieces from the collection - all put together into one outfit. Wool-cashmere sport coat in rusty orange is a perfect piece for those upcoming colder fall days - restrained yet refined choice that combined with the off-white wool slacks forms an ultimate look for the season. Light blue button-down shirt is a safe bet and in case you want that little "sprezz" - just leave the collar buttons unbuttoned. Brown...

Lardini fall and winter 2015

As it's almost August - it is time to start and look what's coming for the upcoming fall and winter season. Starting with Italian Lardini of which fall and winter collection is again a strong play between diversified fabrics, patterns, shapes and special treatments - all that combine the art of hand tailoring and cutting-edge machinery. Lardini fw15 - Italian elegance x British coolness For the upcoming season it seems that Lardini brings a small dose of British coolness and influence to their selection and mix it with their own "Italian chic" appearance. The collection for the season is - as usual - characterized by well-fitting cuts and fine designs but also by classic pieces such as gray flannel suits and...
