As it's almost August - it is time to start and look what's coming for the upcoming fall and winter season. Starting with Italian Lardini of which fall and winter collection is again a strong play between diversified fabrics, patterns, shapes and special treatments - all that combine the art of hand tailoring and cutting-edge machinery.
Lardini fw15 - Italian elegance x British coolness
For the upcoming season it seems that Lardini brings a small dose of British coolness and influence to their selection and mix it with their own "Italian chic" appearance.
The collection for the season is - as usual - characterized by well-fitting cuts and fine designs but also by classic pieces such as gray flannel suits and trousers, checked wool- or tweed fabrics and finally heavy double-breasted overcoats some even featuring fur collars. The color palette ranges from toned down browns and beige to wheat yellow and moss green to dark blue and wine red - all colors that have kind of a British feel attached.
One thing to pay attention is the footwear selected for the look book pictures. There are basically two models chosen for the looks - a pair of classic white canvas sneakers and a pair of more robust plain toe bluchers. Both simple choices to underline the simplicity and ease of dressing well and to add a little amount of casualness even to otherwise quite dressed-up combinations. The look book is full noteworthy outfits - check the pics above - but below are six looks I wanted to highlight from the collection.
What about white casentino wool overcoat? Might not be the best choice for Finnish winter but I am really looking forward to achieve this piece into my wardrobe. Combined with a dark-colored roll neck sweater for that perfectly balanced contrast.
