Casentino wool overcoat and grey flannel - throwback Thursday

For a little Thursday evening throwback an outfit from last week featuring some Casentino wool and flannel. As can be seen from the pictures, we had a real winter and snow here in Helsinki for a while, which at the moment seems to be gone again though.

Casentino overcoat by Tagliatore

Even though for some it might look just like a fabric gone ruined - Casentino can be considered as a classic choice for overcoat material and for the last couple of fall and winter seasons it seems many producers have been thinking that way.

Here shown as a double-breasted version by Italian Tagliatore in light brown (camel) color, featuring peak lapels and patch pockets. Although the coat might be a little light weight in case the temperature drops a lot below zero for the moment it is warm enough and pretty much perfect - thanks to the surface that makes the coat also water resistant.

In case you want to read more about the coat check my post from around a year ago.

Grey flannel suiting - versatile office wear

When it comes to office wear and work clothing, the suit - made of grey super 120s flannel by Vitale Barberis Canonico -  pictured is definitely one of my most often used options. By being unstructured, quite light weight and featuring patch pockets the jacket (as well as the trousers) can also be used as separate which make it even more versatile.

Once again it is seen here that most of times I tend to go with pretty simple combinations, especially when it comes to work related occasions. Grey suit, light blue striped oxford cloth shirt and brown knitted tie. The only little splash of color comes from the pocket square.

The overcoat was taken of just for the period of taking these shots…

Pocket square by Eton from their Eton x Eidos Napoli collection.

Once again it’s shown - brown x grey x blue just works. The tie is old but still one of my personal favorites - Knitted, made of silk and 7,5cm in width.

Balmoral boots made of “semi-dark” brown calf leather by Grenson for Italian brand Mauro Volponi. The last is sleek, the leather is smooth and the finishing with these ones is really nice and beautiful. Once the leather soles have been depleted will replace with dainite so that they will be more suitable for Finnish winter.
