Yesterday was quite a normal day at the office - wearing a dark blue suit made of Vitale Barberis featuring black subtle overcheck, minimal structure, soft shoulders and two patch pockets. More about the suit, which was and mtm-order via Herrainpukimo (Turku) coming up later as there are still some amendments that need to be make after I’ve a few more wears for it. An old denim shirt by Schoffa (mtm) and a woven end on end checked silk tie in navy and white from Drake’s London. The tie is actually one of the only “basic silk” ties I still keep in my rotation. Easy to knot and suitable for not just business but also for more formal occasions as well. Suede double...
It’s again that time of a year when it’s dark when you leave for work and it’s dark again when you get back home. This unfortunately makes taking any outfit pictures even harder as there is no sufficient light (or decent weather) to shoot outside office hours. However here are some details of starting the week. I quite rarely wear jeans and tie together but when I do - I tend to go with knitted ties, as here. Something dressed up enough for office wear but still casual and textured enough to be combined with denim. In terms of colors safely mixing shades of blue and light brown. For this Wednesday a little outtake from the archives, something I was wearing last year around this time. And well, was wearing pretty much same outfit what I was wearing yesterday - just the beard is missing in these pics. Going casual with the SL Bedale by Barbour In case it's not about work (or Pitti / some other #menswear related occasion) I like to go rather casual while traveling and holidays. I don't really feel a need for example to wear a suit or a tie on my "free-time" and if possible I usually opt for light colored denim, simple button-ups & sweaters (nowadays crew necks) or roll necks, sometimes maybe a "lightweight", unstructured sport coat. Just as here,...
I have said it earlier but one of the best things in #menswear is when you get to know new brands, new garments and people behind them. In the summer a friend of my Corey, who also is the founding editor of A&H Magazine introduced me a brand I had no earlier experience or knowledge about, though I had seen some pics on web and on instagram which had attracted my interest. The brand was and is called Francesco Serraiocco. An example of wearing the tie in "smart casual" set-up. For more details and pics check the post here. Francesco Serraiocco ties - made by hand Frank is a young and talented guy - based in Detroit, USA - whose brand Francesco Serraiocco is concentrated...
Sunday is also a good time for a short (and monthly) instagram-review. I don’t update the feed on a daily basis but some sneak peeks of what I wear and what I do as well and some other things I find personally interesting can be found from there on more regular pace. So for more wiwt- and other pics - check and follow @dresslikea Field jacket, Lardini blazer and roll neck by Sand.
