Esemplare F/W ´13

Since 1961, for over 50 years Esemplare (Manifattura Riese) products have been manufactured in the region of Reggio Emilia, Italy. Combining the best Italian tradition and experimentation the brand offers fresh and personal casual elegance. The mission of the company is to make clothes interwoven with care, passion and respect, finding the way to ride the wave of evolution and revolution naturally, inquisitively exploring changing times and then interpreting them €“ but without denying its own history.  The recent F/W collection is once again all about beautiful and sensible simplicity of the lines and liaison between aesthetics, functionality, technical materials, comfort and refinement. In the lookbook there’s also a lot exploitation of layering to bring all the pieces smoothly together.  Finishing of...

Luigi Borrelli F/W ´13

As usual with Borrelli the collection for fall combines casual pieces with formal elements in a very compatible and easy way. In terms of colors keeping the palette around shades of blue, brown and grey just makes the collection even more versatile and possible to mix. Great layering for the weekend - denim shirt with a button-up sweater is chic yet casual combination. This grey quilted flannel jacket featuring brown contrast details is personally my favorite piece of the collection. For the look I would go with a solid shirt though. When it comes to fall gear, burgundy (or wine red) is too often undervalued. Works great when paired with shades of grey and blue as done here. Sometimes it’s...

Eleventy F/W ´13

Blank canvas Blank canvas is the said to be theme for Eleventy F/W ´13 collection. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Eleventy would make a great base (or be the blank canvas) to build for every man’s wardrobe. The color scheme as always restrained and earthy and the pieces are subtly combined & versatile. As in this one, the style of the collections is always pretty easy to recognize as Eleventy.  In general I like the DB jackets (common piece in Eleventy collections) and lightweight outerwear garments of the collection but my personal favorite of the lookbook is definitely the fit in the last pic featuring nice light colored rollneck sweater, double-breasted gilet and flannel-cargos. The shoes...

Isaia F/W ´13 @ Pitti Uomo 83

Isaia’s booth was actually the first one for me I went to see at Pitti this season. Not only because of the clothes but because of the great people working for the brand and were nice to see again. For next fall Isaia has created couple of different color stories and come up with pieces that are not just subtle and solid. A lot of large scale patterns and really surprising and inspiring use of fabrics and textures. The first part of the collection relies on blue & green and includes pieces such as the blue suit with a bold green windowpane pattern, blue double-breasted chalkstripe suit, blue / grey checked peacoat and my personal favorite, the grey three-piece windowpane suit...

Eleventy F/W ´13 @ Pitti Uomo 83

Eleventy was one of the brands I absolutely wanted to see during my visit at Pitti as I had never before seen the products in person even thought I of course had been going through their past collections and lookbooks online. The first word or definition I’d use to describe the collection (as well as Eleventy in general) is “versatile” or “diverse” and the second one would be “simple”. (this green double-breasted jacket was my favorite piece of the collection) In case we forget the most formal occasions and business dressing, Eleventy provides a great foundation to build up your wardrobe as the collections are restrained and understated but still “elegant” and sharp. The main colors and tones (much of grey, brown,...
