Possen is a - not that well-known - Dutch firm that offers made-to-order garments all the way from shirts to suits and overcoats. In addition they have a bunch of accessories available via their web store. Even though I’m not that familiar with the company itself, there is something very interesting at their website - namely the presentation of their seasonal selection of fabrics and garments. Over 200 pictures of different pieces (showcasing the fabric selection and models) which are a great way to find inspiration on how to mix different colors and patterns in terms of jackets, shirts and accessories. Although not all the combinations are to my liking, I still encourage to have a look. Here I’ve picked...
Started the week in the office with something between formal and casual, wearing my new made-to-measure suit from Sauma. Very satisfied with the result - a two-piece suit made of middle grey (semi) lightweight wool fabric with light blue and brown overcheck. Jacket of the suit is a single-breasted, features 2 patch pockets, 3-roll-2 buttoning and a little roped shoulders. More detailed review (and video) regarding the suit coming up. Wanted to keep the ensemble quite light colored, so picked a white merino wool turtle neck and pocket square (The unicorn square by Drake’s is still my favorite one) & shoes in shades of brown. Based on pictures it seems that my shoes could also use some welt edge dressing for...
After yesterday’s house warming party today and this evening seems like a good day for weekly Q&A round-up. Q: Hi Atte! What’s your take on Suitsupply suits (Sienna, La Spalla)? A: To put it shortly, SuitSupply offers suits and jackets that are mostly classically proportioned and cut and decently constructed and personally I would recommend their garments to anyone. I think that most of all SuitSupply is known as a brand that offers good quality for one's money especially in terms of lower price range (300-400 euros) which covers their basic “blue” and “purple” lines. Whereas in that price tier most of brands are selling either fused suits or ones made with either “fashionable” cuts featuring very skinny lapels and too short jackets or...
I just noticed that A Fine Pair of Shoes is having a limited sale including some of their Alfred Sargent (and Sanders) shoes as well as some socks from corgi and shoe trees. The discount is approximately 20% for all the shoes which brings the handgrade-range pairs by AS under 400£ and exclusive-range around 300£ per pair. Most pairs are only available in limited sizes. Picked a few favorites that are worth checking out. I’m not that much of a fan of brogue-oxfords but the Hunt-model by AS is definitely one of the most beautiful pairs in this category. Would work especially well with suits and wool- / flannel slacks in the office. In terms of double monks Ramsey in snuff suede is...
