Scandinavian simplicity combined with Italian craftsmanship - DressLikeA

5 x denim shirt

After writing on Wednesday about denim shirts I got a couple of questions about where to get them. The question is quite accurate as the limited edition of denim fabrics for custom shirts by Proper Cloth mentioned in the post was sold out in less than 12 hours. So I decided to come up with a few ready-to-wear options to check out in case you are looking for a denim shirt to wear this spring and summer.

The picture above - by Gothenburg-based Spiga3 - showcasing a Finamore denim shirt together with a sport coat by Boglioli and Entre Ami cream white colored cotton trousers is a great example of springish way to combine denim. In case you are looking for something more casual shirt - or an option with lower budget - Uniqlo is usually carrying a shirt or two in their selection every season.

And then those five options - for different occasions, from different price categories.

Suitsupply offers a price-worthy, versatile option that goes well for both - more dressed-up as well as more casual oriented use. Pair with light colored (washed cotton) sport coat and some denim in a bit lighter tone.

Italian #menswear-icon Isaia (via Mr. Porter) - which now is available at Mr. Porter is my personal favorite for this season. Very light shade of denim (almost like light blue) works for multiple occasions from casual Fridays at the office to early weekend brunches at your favorite cafe. Can be worn with or without a sport coat as well as with or without a tie.

Italian Danolis (via Linnegatan 2) is another option in case it is a dress shirt made of denim you are looking for. White cotton slacks, navy light weight wool blazer and casual loafers paired with a shirt colored as this one is a killer summer look.

French A.P.C. (via Mr. Porter) offers a casual option with dyed - deep indigo shade. I would personally pair this with some classic canvas sneakers or runners and camel colored chinos.

Indigo blue, garment-washed button-down shirt by Eton of Sweden is maybe the most versatile option listed here as it can be dressed up with a tie and a tailored suit or a sport coat, or it can be worn with some denim or cotton slacks for a timeless casual look.
