Spring is here and Viola Milano launched their new spring & summer collection this week. In addition to ties, pocket squares and bracelets the selection is now widened to comprise umbrellas, braces and different kind of horn accessories. These items are not just seasonal but meant to stay in the collection “for good”.   From the new collection - meticulously handcrafted umbrellas made in Naples by Mario Talarico. Also new - handmade horn accessories and braces from United Kingdom. Berg&Berg S/S ´14 launched

Last week Berg&Berg launched the first releases of their new spring and summer collection. Once again there’s bunch of interesting stuff that really draws attention and are definitely worth checking out. In the new tie collection classic grenadines are complimented with self striped silk ties that are crafted from" fil a fil silk (a jacquard fabri woven with two double twisted silk threads), multiple linen ties and finally a bit more special, untipped cotton seersucker versions. In terms of pocket squares the absolute ace for the season are the fresh and summery cotton squares featuring floral prints, nice option to wear with your unstructured cotton and linen jackets. For knitwear Berg&Berg has two new versions for the summer. First of all a basic round neck sweater, knitted...

Chester Mox bi-fold wallet in mandarina calf

In the end of last year I was contacted by the people at Chester Mox €“ a small American leather goods company that's specialized on producing handmade leather wallets. All their products are made of top quality materials at their own workshop based in Los Angeles, California. They were kind enough to offer me a chance to review some of their products. And as I had been looking for a new decent wallet to replace the old card holders for quite a while, the offer was more than properly placed. Packed in a nice & simple cardboard case featuring a little cotton bag inside to cover the wallet.[/caption] Sum up - What I got? Before I had seen a lot pictures...

Time for fall ties

Seasonal features Even though it’s still surprisingly warm here in Finland, prelude of September is a good time to start looking at the seasonal pieces for the fall. And as I today came by the pictured ties (that I purchased last spring from Gant “sample sale” but that haven’t yet been used even once) while going through my closet I thought neckwear might be a good choice to begin with. Having “seasonal ties” is not in any case a must and there’s definitely no problem wearing one’s basic rotation of silk ties (including knit ties, grenadines and shantung for example) through the year. But having some seasonal additions is a good and easy way to make the selection a bit...

Summer accessories - courtesy of Berg&Berg

Couple of months ago I wrote shortly about the Norwegian Berg&Berg and the launch of their S/S ´13 collection. Recently I was kindly asked by Mathias and Karin if I was interested to pick few items of their collection and give them a try. And of course I was pleased to say yes.   The first and probably the hardest thing was to make the choices as the collection itself very inspiring and versatile, full of wearable choices. I made a decision to give Mathias a list of few items I was keen on and let him do the final picks for the items he felt best represented the collection. For my surprise he actually did send me all of the...
