One of the best things of visiting Pitti is finding brands you haven't been aware of earlier. Or brands of which you've maybe heard sometimes but don't really have much info about. One of the less-known brands I came up with this time was a Spanish shoe brand Bow-Tie. Bow-tie shoes - inspired by British tradition and heritage Bow-Tie is a Spanish brand and manufacturer that finds inspiration from the British tradition and heritage. In terms of shoes Bow-Tie shoes have three different lines. First of all there's Premium Gold Series which consists of shoes made exclusively of shell cordovan leather by Horween. Second one is Classic line that includes various versions of dress shoes in different leathers and models with the goodyear welt-construction....
Finally, after two weeks traveling around after Pitti I can get started with some short reviews of what was seen during the fair and what will be seen next spring. I’ll start the series with Lardini that I was fascinated by in January and that this time came up with maybe the most inspiring collection in my book. Chic and comfortable Chic and comfortable is probably the best definition to describe the S/S ´14 collection by Lardini. As earlier, there’s a huge amount of experimentation and versatility with different fabrics, patterns and special treatments featuring for example some garment-dyed and two-tone jackets, soft shapes and silhouettes, simple earthy colors, attention to details and innovative implementations of classic garments. One of the...
Again - time to pack the bags and jump on the plane… Next two weeks will be dedicated to clothing, street style, good food (and drinks), culture, window (and some serious) shopping, new people and great friends. First up is Pitti Uomo in Florence starting on Tuesday and continuing till Friday. From Florence I’ll be heading to Milan (for the first time ever) for a a couple of days to see the start of Milano Fashion week before ending to the tour by some relaxing at the Lake Como. I will try to come up with some street style shots and sneak peeks & previews during the days here and @Editors’ Notes but in case you want to keep up...
Last but totally not least… As it’s about five weeks before I’ll be heading to Florence again it’s a good time to come up with the last collection review from Pitti Uomo 83. “Poetry in the fabrics selection and lightness in style” The new era Tombolini is bringing up and that was already seen in the S/S ´13 collection is light. The lightness is the main concept especially for the Tombolini “Zero Gravity” line that features suits and jackets manufactured by a new technique by Tombolini and with fabrics such soft silks and wools that are extra light (weight in grams so light that you could say is almost weightless) but still hold you in a warm embrace. The “Flying” line that features sport coats made for...
