Back to the office in light colored flannel

After week and a half Christmas holidays it was time to get back at the office yesterday. As the weather has again gone cold as hell I opted for some flannel and layering. Shades of brown & Tombolini light colored flannel The suit is camel colored, unstructured and very light weight flannel suit by Italian Tombolini. Despite the light color it is a perfect choice for cold Finnish winter. I decided to pair it with dark brown cashmere cardigan from Uniqlo to stay warm in the cold. I chose a dark brown grenadine tie by Berg&Berg and light blue button-up shirt. The shirt is in fact a mtm-piece by Proper Cloth. Finally the shades of  brown and the blue are...

Sales tip to start the week - Berg & Berg

The sale season is on and Norwegian Berg&Berg - also a DLA-partner -just started their seasonal sale. Reductions are between 30-40%, including almost the entire fall & winter collection. Taking into account the already reasonable prices there are some really nice finds available. Below are listed some of my personal favorites.  Ties It seems that in terms of ties almost the entire fall and winter collection - including solid wools, paisleys, plaids and stripes in silk, wool, cashmere and cotton - are all 40% off and the grenadine ties 30% off. Especially in case you are looking to make some additions to your grenadine-selection this is one of the best deals in terms of price-quality-ratio you can find. In case looking...

Buttero - spring and summer 2015 @ Pitti Uomo 86

There’s only a week before heading again to Florence for Pitti Uomo 87. As I noticed there are still some unpublished photos regarding the collections and makers I paid a visit in June I thought they would serve as a good “warm up” for the upcoming fair. So next week will be about those few collections for the upcoming season as well as getting ready to travel. Starting with Buttero - Italian shoe maker that nowadays is best know for their high-quality sneakers. Even though the brand may not be that well-known outside the #menswear and sneaker-aficianados, Buttero already celebrated it’s 40th anniversary with the collection that was seen at Pitti last summer. Spring and summer 2015 - “Dirty white” The “theme”...

Christmas gift in detail - Drake's London Mughal print scarf

Light weight wool mughal print scarf by Drake’s London Sometimes a little bit of color or unusual pattern can bring an appropriate amount of edge to otherwise quite classic and simple winter ensemble. Here the orange mughal printed scarf by Drake’s is worn together with a checked flannel suit by G.Abo Napoli, made-to-order grenadine tie made by Arcuri Cravatte and shirt from Kamakura. Pocket square from The Tie Bar and shoes by Carmina. The scarf pictured - which I’ve been longing for (in this particular color) since I saw it the first time at Pitti Uomo last January when it was featured at the Drake’s London collection for this fall and winter season - was given to me as a Christmas gift...
