19012015 - Checked blazer in the office

As mentioned a couple of times - after holidays and Pitti  - on Monday it was time to get back in the office and regular day work.Started the week with combination between formal and casual - a bold patterned sport coat by Lardini combined with a new addition in my wardrobe - nice detailed grey flannel trousers from Finealta (more about these coming later) and chestnut colored oxfords by Alfred Sargent. As the sport coat itself is bold enough when it comes to office wear - in terms of color I tried to keep the combination restrained and go with no pattern in the shirt, tie or pocket square. Wearing: Blazer: Lardini Shirt: Isaia (mtm) Trousers: Finealta Tie: Viola Milano...

Boglioli fall and winter 2015

Starting the week by taking a look of the fall and winter 2015 collection by Italian Boglioli that was not shown at Pitti Uomo but presented the collection in Milan just recently. For the recent fall and winter Boglioli had studied and been inspired by the elegance of Milanese men of the 1960's - and it seems that the same theme has served as a platform of inspiration for this collection as well. Casual interpretation of a tailored overcoat and example of how to make a difference with textures. Monochromatic in brown - in case looking for a versatile suit this would be a good option as it can also easily be worn as separates. Classic grey flannel chalk-striped suit dressed down...

Getting ready for Pitti Uomo 87

After almost six and a half months wait it’s time again to pack the bags, jump on the plane and hit Florence for Pitti Uomo, fair number 87. Once again I'm thrilled to see what the week will bring. Keen to see the big names such as Isaia, Tombolini and Lardini as well as the new star players Eidos and The GIGI. In addition really looking forward to see the fully new section, “Born in the USA” which will bring over 20 born-and-made in the USA brands - that never before has been presented at Pitti - to the Fortezza da Basso. Included are names such as Shinola, Frank Clegg, The Hillside, Save Khaki, Schott and Red Wing. One more event worth...

Cold day inspiration for a casual weekend

Getting ready for a casual weekend - inspired by Bastong, a Korean brand specialized in hight quality outerwear. Bastong is also one of the brands I once again most look forward to see next week at Pitti. Unfortunately their products are not really easily available in Europe, but check for their own web store for more. The parka jacket is combined with a roll neck made by Gran Sasso, another personal favorite and some blue toned denim. Cashmere beanie and a classc Acne Studios "Canada" scarf to keep one warm. In terms of colors this is one more safe played combination that you can't really go wrong with. The difference is made through those little things and quality details such as...

Tombolini spring and summer 2015 @ Pitti Uomo 86

Before moving on to Pitti Uomo 87 next week there is room for one more review dating back to June - featuring Tombolini, a classic Italian family company that celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. Shades of blue and business wear Tombolini has every time at Pitti been one of my personal favorites as they keep coming up with comprehensive collections that cover not only business, formal, casual or some "trendy" parts of their line-up at the booth but the whole selection in a very compatible way. That being said - for the second time in a row it seemed that in terms of the display the company had dropped a part of the more casual stuff, keeping the coverage...
