Last week I wrote shortly about the mtm-days going on at Sauma (see it here) and as mentioned took also a glimpse of their range for this season. In addition to Montecore, Tombolini, Cavaliere, Gran Sasso, Berwich, John Smedley and others, for this season they also got Italian Tagliatore as a new brand to the selection. Generally speaking I’d say that in terms of both the whole selection and individual pieces, Sauma has really come up with a nice assortment for this season, maybe even the best I’ve seen in the store so far, even though they were still last week waiting for some outerwear additions by Tombolini and Tagliatore as well as some knitwear from Gran Sasso. Subtle mini...
Sauma started their “made-to-measure days” on Saturday and they will go on until 28th of September. During the days all mtm-products (suits, sport coats, trousers and shirts) comes with -20% discount. As due all the work and stuff it had been too long from my previous visit I decided to go and take look at their new selection for the fall (more about that later) and also at the fabrics for this season. Picked some of my favorites and some otherwise interesting choices. Especially liked the bold patterns by Holland and Sherry, even though might end up going with some more subtle and restrained fabrics myself. What I’d need is a new “basic” suit for work. This dark blue, lightweight wool...
Today after work I had a pleasure to visit at Schoffa while the “VIP Night” they had arranged for their friends and customers. A great get-together with nice people, good catering, some nice offerings and of course, free champagne. What would be a better way to spend your evening. I also got the chance to take a little closer look at their new selection of ties, scarves, pocket squares and some new shirt fabrics (including some nice flannels) for the season. Especially liked the grenadine ties (actually bought one earlier today when I just quickly popped to the shop) and the paisley patterned wool scarves. They also have a got a new line of “Schoffa”-labeled suits for this fall. Taking...
Seasonal features Even though it’s still surprisingly warm here in Finland, prelude of September is a good time to start looking at the seasonal pieces for the fall. And as I today came by the pictured ties (that I purchased last spring from Gant “sample sale” but that haven’t yet been used even once) while going through my closet I thought neckwear might be a good choice to begin with. Having “seasonal ties” is not in any case a must and there’s definitely no problem wearing one’s basic rotation of silk ties (including knit ties, grenadines and shantung for example) through the year. But having some seasonal additions is a good and easy way to make the selection a bit...
For some reason I’ve left Lubiam to be one the last brands to show, maybe because I think the photos I took don’t make justice to the collection which I actually liked maybe even more than the two previous ones I’ve seen from them. Unlike most of the exhibitors Lubiam had for this season changed the layout of the stand a bit (and maybe this made it too difficult for me to shoot) which also gave a nice refreshment. Also this time they had present a lot of pieces from maybe their most unknown label “Brando”, in the same space with the other collections. The collection for next spring and summer overall comes with lots and lots of bold patterns...
