Quality knitwear from Italy - Gran Sasso

Italian Gran Sasso is one of my personal favorite knitwear makers on the market. Company's garments are made - in Italy - from finest materials to combine tradition with innovation and ancient craftsmanship with modern production processes. As said by themselves "quality is always fashionable". A detail worth of notice is that even you may not have any pieces labeled as “Gran Sasso” it does not mean you could not own one made by them as the company produces garments for multiple more and less known quality-brands and also for many shops for their “private label”-collections. Gran Sasso fall and winter 2014 The selection of Gran Sasso includes not just “basic” knitwear but also (double-sided) vests, suede featured & down lined...

Visit @ Isaia Showroom - New York

During my trip in New York last month I got the chance to drop by and pay a visit at Isaia’s showroom on the 5th Avenue. A while ago I wrote about the collection as it was seen at Pitti Uomo for the first time, so I’m not gonna go there that much again but you can find my review and more pics from here. Although whereas the presentation at Pitti concentrated highly on the sportswear and casual selection, it was great to see the whole ensemble featuring also the more business- ja formal-oriented side of the line at the showroom. Here’s few outtakes in terms of what will be seen during next fall and winter. Bold patterns (as usual), mixture of...

Buttero - the company Buttero was founded and started as a manufacturer of riding boots in the 1970s by Mauro Sani. Mauro was the father of three sons who nowadays run the family company. Being still handmade by craftsmen in Stabbia, Tuscany of local ingredients Buttero products honor the Tuscan tradition. Tombolini F/W 2013

The company founded in 1964 by Eugenio Tombolini and today run by his daughter Fiorella Tombolini wants by their own words to represent the taste and passion for what can be described beautiful and they want to combine old artisanal expertise to uptodate luxury. What really pleases me (and is shown also in the collection for the season) is the complete way of styling and tailoring Tombolini covers the whole package from the classic business clothing till the more relaxed and laid-back casual wear. The lightness is the main concept especially for the Tombolini "Zero Gravity" line that features both full suits and jackets with fabrics such as soft silks and wools that are extra light (weight in grams so light that you could say...

Esemplare F/W ´13

Since 1961, for over 50 years Esemplare (Manifattura Riese) products have been manufactured in the region of Reggio Emilia, Italy. Combining the best Italian tradition and experimentation the brand offers fresh and personal casual elegance. The mission of the company is to make clothes interwoven with care, passion and respect, finding the way to ride the wave of evolution and revolution naturally, inquisitively exploring changing times and then interpreting them €“ but without denying its own history.  The recent F/W collection is once again all about beautiful and sensible simplicity of the lines and liaison between aesthetics, functionality, technical materials, comfort and refinement. In the lookbook there’s also a lot exploitation of layering to bring all the pieces smoothly together.  Finishing of...
