In my opinion, (suede) loafer is the ultimate summer shoe. Loafers in general, especially penny loafer is a model that is a classic but has also become increasingly popular among footwear manufacturers (and #menswear aficionados) recently. One of the best features when talking about loafers is the versatility as they can be combined with shorts in summer on one day and paired with a suit on another. Some wear them sockless some add personal style by using socks with multiple colors and patterns. Finally some want their loafers in brown calf leather so that they can create a nice patina, some prefer suede and for one black patent leather is the right choice. As said, loafers are a perennial menswear...
As the guys from Isaia were last time visiting Helsinki and Fere I got a chance to make an order for my other mtm-shirt by them. Regarding the process in general, check the post I wrote earlier from here. This time I decided to go for something a bit more “summerish” and ended up with a chambray-fabric featuring quite a wide spread collar and naturally “neapolitan” shoulders. The cloth itself is very lightweight, suitable to be worn in the office with a suit and a tie but works as well when worn with just a pair of cotton slacks or shorts. Once again the shirt is nothing short of perfect with its hand made buttonholes, buttons that are hand sewn with...
This week got a great start as I on Monday received a package from Australia including a pair of suede loafers and a new pocket square I ordered earlier. Both by my friend and highly talented Mr. Christian Kimber, one of the “new hopes” of #menswear. Keep an eye on this guy.
The suit is wool / silk / mohair mixture by SuitSupply in a bit more bright blue, espeacially suitable for summer (and actually acquired to be worn at couple of upcoming summer weddings), white x light blue striped lightweight cotton twill shirt by Eton and brown linen tie by Berg&Berg to balance the ensemble.

At Pitti Uomo 85 Eidos Napoli made its second appearance and after a debut that was slightly describing nothing less than total success the expectations were high for sure. Whereas the "theme and concept" for the Eidos S/S ´14 “This is Rome”-collection was young man's first summer in the eternal city of Rome, this time inspiration comes from Florence, showing the “Faces of Firenze”. The line itself is again full of sportswear side garments mixed with fine tailoring and divided into “two different” sides - of which the first one brings out “Italian workwear” and other one is concentrated more tailored “business man” appearance. In terms of Eidos, consistency is the key. Antonio and the guys have established a clear identity and...
In three weeks it’s on again as the Pitti Uomo 86 starts on the 16th of June. However I realized there’s still few F/W-collections presented in January I haven’t covered here. And as the short summer we got here last week seems to be gone again it’s a good time to take a look at the last F/W-presentations before starting to wait for the S/S ´15 that will be introduced when it’s time to hit Florence again. Eton of Sweden fall ´14 preview Once again Eton collection gave a full glimpse of what’s coming covering their ranges from the “Green Ribbon” which combines casual fabrics, garment washing and innovative details to “Red Ribbon” that’s made to refine and reinvent the modern...
