Tombolini S/S ´14 @ Pitti Uomo 84

Being my personal favorite for the last two Pitti Uomo fairs, I was definitely looking forward to see Tombolini and their collection this time as well.  In general it should be said that for every season (this one not being an exception) Tombolini comes up with one of the most comprehensive collections covering not only business, formal, casual or some “trendy” parts of their line-up at the booth but the whole selection in a very compatible way. Even though it means that the overall look stays pretty much the same from one season to another there’s also some new bites keeping the presentation fresh and crispy every single time. Business & Zero Gravity One of the key pieces in the collection and worth to...

Shoe rotation - What is enough?

How many pairs of shoes does a man need?Yesterday as I got the newest addition, a pair of Buttero tanino sneakers into my collection - I once again started to think the question how many pairs of shoes does a man need… The pair mentioned took the overall amount to be around 45 pairs - give or take one or two as some pairs are missing from the pictures which I shot last night. So in general I could probably say that I have my basics covered. I actually haven't  purchased any dress shoes or casual leather shoes for a while now as I’ve been concentrating to more casual options for summer such as superga sneakears, rivieras slip-ons and Nike flyknits.The...

Plain toe blucher for casual wear

PTB seems to be the “new double monk” as it keeps becoming more and more popular and more featured in the #menswear-scene… Even though I’m not replacing my monks to these (yet) myself, I have to admit that I’m planning to add a pair to my rotation as the fall comes. Check out the full post @Editors’ Notes. And for my Finnish followers - if you’re keen, I’m organizing a group mto order with Meermin at the moment for a plain toe blucher made of snuff rapello suede. More details at tyylit.fi (or just hit me with a message if you’re interested).

Boglioli S/S ´14 @ Pitti Uomo 84

Playfullness, masculinity and fabric experimentation First of all I need to say that the photos do not do justice to the S/S ´14 collection by Boglioli that was built and presented in the middle of daisies, gardenias and peach blossoms in their very own house during the fair. The craftsmanship and experimentation especially with the different kinds of fabric treatments Boglioli is known for is something you should see and feel by yourself. Soft fabrics and peculiar shapes For the up coming spring and summer there are once again a bunch of new experiments all in terms of fabric treatments, colors and cut. One of them is the new cut and peculiar shape for the suit where the front part of the jacket...

Mismo @ Pitti Uomo 84

S/S ´14 As usual, Mismo came up tough and inspirational. The collection presents some new materials and mixtures such as the linen, linen/cotton, new colored canvas plus also some techinal fabrics that seemed to be perfect for more casual attendance. For S/S 2014 Mismo has also decided to step into the “camouflage game” as the print is strongly presented in many pieces of the collection. But unlikely to what we’ve used to see in the spring and summer collections of Mismo there’s really no splashes or flashy choices in terms of the color scheme this time. Instead there’s a lot shades of blue, brown, sand and green with some little additions of restrained tones of orange. Read the full post @Editors’...
