Seasonal features Even though it’s still surprisingly warm here in Finland, prelude of September is a good time to start looking at the seasonal pieces for the fall. And as I today came by the pictured ties (that I purchased last spring from Gant “sample sale” but that haven’t yet been used even once) while going through my closet I thought neckwear might be a good choice to begin with. Having “seasonal ties” is not in any case a must and there’s definitely no problem wearing one’s basic rotation of silk ties (including knit ties, grenadines and shantung for example) through the year. But having some seasonal additions is a good and easy way to make the selection a bit...
For some reason I’ve left Lubiam to be one the last brands to show, maybe because I think the photos I took don’t make justice to the collection which I actually liked maybe even more than the two previous ones I’ve seen from them. Unlike most of the exhibitors Lubiam had for this season changed the layout of the stand a bit (and maybe this made it too difficult for me to shoot) which also gave a nice refreshment. Also this time they had present a lot of pieces from maybe their most unknown label “Brando”, in the same space with the other collections. The collection for next spring and summer overall comes with lots and lots of bold patterns...
This fall the double-breasted jackets are going to be more and more seen and “popular” in the streets so here are 4 different kind of db-options (plus one extra choice) to consider while making your purchases for the colder days that are coming. 1) Cantarelli Solid and light-colored overcoat made of angora and virgin wool by Italian Cantarelli will be a perfect choice whenever you need something to wear over your business suit. 2) L.B.M 1911 A classic and timeless piece “twisted” with soft Italian tailoring and “washed” wool-mixture fabric. 3) Montecore The detachable inner collar makes this Montecore jacket versatile and suitable to be worn also on a bit more colder fall days. Can be found also single-breasted. 4) Eleventy This...
Blank canvas Blank canvas is the said to be theme for Eleventy F/W ´13 collection. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Eleventy would make a great base (or be the blank canvas) to build for every man’s wardrobe. The color scheme as always restrained and earthy and the pieces are subtly combined & versatile. As in this one, the style of the collections is always pretty easy to recognize as Eleventy. In general I like the DB jackets (common piece in Eleventy collections) and lightweight outerwear garments of the collection but my personal favorite of the lookbook is definitely the fit in the last pic featuring nice light colored rollneck sweater, double-breasted gilet and flannel-cargos. The shoes...
Today taking a look of a Bespoke tie made by Italian Arcuri Cravatte. In terms of ties word bespoke is pretty much the same than made-to-order. I got a chance to try "bespoke tie service" by Linkson Jack and Arcuri Cravatte. What is this bespoke tie service all about? After receiving the offer from Linkson I decided to take the chance. A couple weeks ago my new bespoke tie was delivered. Now as I've already got few chances to wear it, it's time to take a little closer look. Grenadine ties First few words about grenadine ties. This type of ties are produced with a complex weave which creates a beautiful, variegated texture. In general there are two types of grenadine - garza grossa (large...
