It’s again that time of a year when it’s dark when you leave for work and it’s dark again when you get back home. This unfortunately makes taking any outfit pictures even harder as there is no sufficient light (or decent weather) to shoot outside office hours. However here are some details of starting the week. I quite rarely wear jeans and tie together but when I do - I tend to go with knitted ties, as here. Something dressed up enough for office wear but still casual and textured enough to be combined with denim. In terms of colors safely mixing shades of blue and light brown. Seems that time for (grey) flannel is here again. Pretty often my weeks are scheduled so that most of meetings are placed in the beginning of the week, i.e most of Mondays I go with a full suit and yesterday made no exception.
Suit featuring Vitale Barberis flannel is made-to-measure by Sauma (Private Label), soft collar button-up shirt by Mastai Ferretti and the cashmere tie & tiger-printed pocket square by Drake’s London. Black doudble-monks, which I got via A Fine Pair Of Shoes and which despite the color have become one my favorites are made by Alfred Sargent. Wallet from Chester Mox and shades by Balenciaga.
I start this week with the third part of short "series" how to combine casual footwear. These features have included three sets of different kind of loafers from French shoemaker Bexley. In this last part I take a closer look of a pair of black tassel loafers. Some might claim that it's not right to talk about "casual footwear" when the pair in hand is in fact a pair of black calf leather tassel loafers. Actually the pair in question is presented in the "dress shoe"-category at Bexleys website as well. But that's not all they are. Black tassel loafers - versatile choice for business and casual Despite the fact that black tassel loafers in general are a perfect choice for a...
Started the week in the office with something between formal and casual, wearing my new made-to-measure suit from Sauma. Very satisfied with the result - a two-piece suit made of middle grey (semi) lightweight wool fabric with light blue and brown overcheck. Jacket of the suit is a single-breasted, features 2 patch pockets, 3-roll-2 buttoning and a little roped shoulders. More detailed review (and video) regarding the suit coming up. Wanted to keep the ensemble quite light colored, so picked a white merino wool turtle neck and pocket square (The unicorn square by Drake’s is still my favorite one) & shoes in shades of brown. Based on pictures it seems that my shoes could also use some welt edge dressing for...
