Casentino wool overcoat and grey flannel - throwback Thursday

For a little Thursday evening throwback an outfit from last week featuring some Casentino wool and flannel. As can be seen from the pictures, we had a real winter and snow here in Helsinki for a while, which at the moment seems to be gone again though. Casentino overcoat by Tagliatore Even though for some it might look just like a fabric gone ruined - Casentino can be considered as a classic choice for overcoat material and for the last couple of fall and winter seasons it seems many producers have been thinking that way. Here shown as a double-breasted version by Italian Tagliatore in light brown (camel) color, featuring peak lapels and patch pockets. Although the coat might be a little light...

Camouflage field jacket and superga sneakers - Casual Saturday

Starting the week again with an outfit from the weekend, this time something a bit more casual - Field jacket together with a chunky roll neck and cotton slacks. Beams Plus garment dyed M-65 jacket The field jacket worn is an impulse purchase I copped from Florence during the last Pitti Uomo. A little bit funny is that the jacket (made by Japanese Beams+) is sized as “large”, though it fits me (as seen) perfectly on the shoulders and by no means is not too large at any point. 2014 - Weekend blues

Getting the week started with some shots from Saturday. Had a great day going through some second-hand shops in Helsinki and after that enjoying some burgers at the best burger joint in town at the Market Hall. As the day was luckily rainless, though a bit windy I ended up wearing my woolen overcoat in addition to sweater and a sport coat - all featuring different shades of blue. And so that it would not be too monochromatic a little splash of color in the form of scarf with restraint beige and bold orange in the gloves. Herringbone in the overcoat, checks on the sport coat. Some say you should never wear your overcoat unbuttoned. So I buttoned it. Some...

2014 - Checked details

Yesterday was quite a normal day at the office - wearing a dark blue suit made of Vitale Barberis featuring black subtle overcheck, minimal structure, soft shoulders and two patch pockets. More about the suit, which was and mtm-order via Herrainpukimo (Turku) coming up later as there are still some amendments that need to be make after I’ve a few more wears for it. An old denim shirt by Schoffa (mtm) and a woven end on end checked silk tie in navy and white from Drake’s London. The tie is actually one of the only “basic silk” ties I still keep in my rotation. Easy to knot and suitable for not just business but also for more formal occasions as well. Suede double...
