Starting the week with a few sneak peak shots from last weekend... Later this week I will come up with some more detailed thoughts about cotton suits, their versatility and how to wear a (camel colored) cotton suit - as a suit and separately.
Wearing a Sauma Private Label jacket (part of a suit) and dark blue denim slacks from Finealta. The light blue striped oxford cloth shirt is from Herrainpukimo and cognac colored calf leather double-monks made by Cheaney for Shipton&Heneage. Knitted tie also made by Sauma and pocket contrast border pocket square from Berg&Berg.
Season after season I find myself waiting for the launch of collections and look books by Italian Loro Piana. This fall makes no exception. For this fall and winter 2015 the company has again come up with a collection and seasonal look book that in terms of inspiration and aesthetics maintains those high-quality standards they have set for themselves. As usual the look book featuring "pencil sketches" of the collection underlines the ease, elegance and form of Italian style of being dressed-up but still casual and "chic" together with Italian craftsmanship. It could be said that Loro Piana represents a kind of "Italian minimalism" in terms of style and aestethics. There is no sriking elements or "sprezzatura" but just simple combinations, restrained...
Whereas in terms of suits my main principle and recommendation is to play safe and stay with staple and easy choices such as plain gray and dark blue fabrics - regarding sport coats and sports jackets different patterns and textures are a great way to add some character and personality to your rotation. To keep an eye on the forthcoming fall and winter season a few words about how to play with patterned sport coats. Brown wool sport coat with a navy...
Whereas I like to keep my suits quite simple and plain, in terms of sport coats I rather go for plaids, checks or some other lively patterns. For today a few detail shots from last week. Featured in the pics is a checked cotton sport coat by Pal Zileri that I don't actually wear that often nowadays but that is a great piece for relaxed casual office days. Checks and details I bought the jacket in pictures a couple of years go from Milan. As mentioned, it hasn't got as much wear as many of my other jackets which might partly be because of the shoulder structure which is a bit more padded that most of my other jackets. Another...
Finally it seems that summer is here. Last weekend was sunny and warm, so it was perfect for strolling around and enjoying the city. On Sunday we decided to head to Brasserie Kämp and see if they really serve one of the best burgers in town - as is often claimed. You can find the full review @tyylit.fi but here are a few pictures of what I was wearing for the day and what we got to eat. Shorts and blazer - casual summer wear I have earlier written shortly about shorts for summer and how to wear them. On Sunday I decided to wear shorts with a button-up shirt and blazer - a combination which in general divides opinions. However as...
